Enterprise Applications including Campus Solutions & Portals

UIS will perform service maintenance on enterprise applications from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 22. During this time Campus Solutions, MyCUInfo, Buff Portal, and some of the resources accessed through these services, will be unavailable (see Affected Services below). Services that are linked through the portals, but not otherwise dependent upon them, will still be accessible through direct links (see Affected Services below).

Isolated Campus Network Issues

Enterprise Database (multiple services impacted)

The production Enterprise Database (EDB) service will undergo an upgrade to its hardware between 7 and 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 19. This will impact services that are dependent upon the Enterprise Database, including the Federated Identity Service and services that rely on it for logins such as MyCUInfo, Buff Portal, Canvas, and many more (see Impact and Affected Services below).

Engineering & Physics Firewall Reboot and Upgrade

The Engineering firewalls will undergo maintenance between 6 and 7 a.m. on Thursday, July 13. This will cause brief network disruptions for subnets behind the ENGR, ENGR2, and PHYS firewalls during the maintenance window. The work being done during the maintenance window is required to replace a failed component.

GitHub Outage

Service Restored at 12:49 PM on 6/29/2023: GitHub is now reporting that all systems are operational and OIT's GitHub Enterprise service is functioning normally.

Service Issue Reported at 12:08 PM on 6/29/2023: OIT is aware of an issue impacting OIT's GitHub Enterprise service. The vendor has been engaged and OIT is working to resolve the issue.

Border routers (network traffic)

Campus border routers will be upgraded to new hardware from 6 to 6:45 a.m. on Thursday, July 6. During this upgrade window, network traffic to and from the campus will be moved to alternate paths, however it is possible that users may experience an interruption for up to 45 minutes and need to reconnect to services if they do not automatically reconnect. This is the second and final upgrade necessary to replace outdated hardware.

Cisco AnyConnect VPN Upgrade

The campus Cisco AnyConnect VPN service will undergo a version update from 6:30 to 7 a.m. on Wednesday, June 28. VPN services will not be interrupted during the update process; however, those using AnyConnect VPN versions that are older than 4.10.07061 computers will be required to go through an auto upgrade process to upgrade their AnyConnect client to the most current version following the change.

Adobe License Expiration Notification

Service Issue Resolved at 10:13 AM on 6/28/2023: OIT has renewed and updated the University Adobe license. There should be no more Expiration Notices on Adobe Acrobat.

Service Issue Reported at 8:50 AM on 6/27/2023: OIT is receiving reports that Adobe Acrobat is showing an expiration notice. This is expected behavior that is part of the normal Adobe renewal process. Customers can ignore the message and click "ok" to continue using the software.

Outlook on the Web500 Error Caused by Microsoft 365 Outage

Service Issue Reported at 8:43 AM on 6/27/2023: OIT is aware of issues affecting the Microsoft Exchange service. Users may encounter an unexpected 500 server error when accessing Outlook on the web. OIT and Microsoft are actively working to resolve the issue.

Service Restored at 3:04 PM on 6/27/2023: The issues causing users to encounter an unexpected 500 server error when accessing Outlook on the web have been resolved. OIT has confirmed that deployment of the fix has completed, and impact has been mitigated.
