Hybrid-Capable Classrooms List

About the Hybrid-Capable Classrooms Project

OIT is increasing the number of hybrid-capable classrooms. In these upgraded spaces, instructors will be able to use their own computers to teach students attending in person and remotely at the same time, as well as record the class for later review. The in-room system will utilize Crestron Mercury X technology and connect to several applications including Zoom. Remote-capable classrooms will be added to this page as they are confirmed.

Please note: While remote-capable classrooms will be added to this page as they are confirmed, Academic Scheduling continues to update room assignments so the list may change. As such, please revisit this page.

If you are teaching in an instruction mode that requires a remote-capable classroom, but weren’t assigned to one, please contact your department liaison that works with Academic Scheduling.

Current Hybrid-Capable Classrooms

The list below is the current list of hybrid-capable classrooms. This includes, OIT supported classrooms, departmental classrooms, and other identified instructional spaces. The list has a column identifying the type of technology within the space. The codes on this list for the installed technology are:

  • Classroom Capture Room (CC): Featuring OIT’s MediaSite service, which provides a fully-bundled camera, microphone, and recording solution that integrates with Canvas. CCR rooms allow for in-person and real-time remote participation. Real-time remote participation will require the use of Zoom, so instructional staff are expected to bring their laptop and power cord.
  • Classroom Capture Plus (CC+): Offers the same functionality of standard Classroom Capture spaces with the addition of audience microphones to record audience participation.
  • Remote-Capable Classroom (RCC): Features a Mercury Crestron camera and microphone unit. RCC rooms allow for in-person and real-time remote participation and recording capability via Zoom. Real-time remote participation will require the use of Zoom, so instructional staff are expected to bring their laptop and power cord.
  • Other Hybrid Capable (OHC): All other AV systems capable of supporting hybrid instruction
