M365 Copilot not available
Microsoft has not announced Higher Ed. pricing or availability for Microsoft 365 Copilot. We anticipate additional data loss prevention measures, as well as data security features will be required before M365 Copilot can be made available to faculty and staff on the CU Boulder campus. In addition, licensing costs may limit initial availability.
In the meantime, Copilot for Bing Chat Enterprise is currently available to faculty and staff and will roll out to students accounts some time in 2024.
Security Features
- User and university data in Copilot Chat is protected and will not leak outside the organization.
- Chat data is not saved, Microsoft has no eyes-on access to it, and it is not used to train the underlying models.
- Even with these protections, users should never enter Confidential or Highly Confidential data into any AI tool.
