Data
Copilot Studio is approved for use with confidential data when access is limited to CU Boulder Microsoft 365 users. The agent will only have access to the data the prompter has access to.
Who can get it
Services are limited to use by Faculty and Staff Microsoft 365 users who also have a Copilot for Microsoft 365 license. A CU Boulder user must have a Microsoft 365 Copilot license to both build and to prompt a Copilot agent/chatbot.
How to get it
Faculty & Staff must have a Copilot for M365 licenses before requesting access to Copilot Studio. Learn how to obtain a Copilot for M365 license on the OIT Software Catalog.
Once a Copilot for M365 license is obtained, Faculty & Staff should email oitsoftware@colorado.edu with Request for M365 Copilot Studio license as the subject line and include the following information:
- Department name
- Contact name
- Number of licenses requested
- List of license recipients including first and last name and CU Boulder email address
Cost
While there is currently no cost, CU Boulder has a shared monthly quota for responses to prompts sent to agents created in Copilot Studio. When the quota is reached, the agents will stop responding to prompts. Before creating an agent, users are encouraged to book a consultation with OIT's Messaging & Collaboration Team.
Limitations
Copilot Studio should not be used to create agents that serve campus critical functions. Agent built for critical functions will fail when the campus monthly quota is reached.
