Description
The Active Directory service will undergo maintenance from 8 a.m. on Wednesday, September 21 to 5 p.m. on Monday, September 26. The work being done will replace the last old domain controller, dc11.ad.colorado.edu, and is a continuation of maintenance originally scheduled at the end of August.
Impact
Users may experience trouble connecting or timeouts if they are connected to dc11.ad.colorado.edu specifically. Users may also see a slight slow down in services that depend on the Active Directory or use the Federated Identity service. With that said, OIT is working to ensure slow downs are minimal, if they occur at all. Our team will be actively monitoring services dependent on the Active Directory and will issue a Service Alert if any issues arise.
Affected Services
The following services are dependent upon the Active Directory and, although unlikely, may experience brief interruptions during the maintenance:
- Buff Portal
- Canvas
- VPN
- Grouper
Any OIT service that utilizes the standard Federated Identity Service sign-in page
