Description

Diagnostic testing of a data center firewall in the Computing Center from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Monday, December 21, could cause outages and login failures for many of the campus’s online services. For approximately 30 minutes during the testing, many of the campus’s online services could become unavailable including, but not limited to: Buff Portal, MyCUInfo, Canvas, CU Boulder IdentiKey Manager, Federated Identity Service (Fed Auth), Buff Portal Advising (BPA), Web Express websites and more. This work is necessary to address issues that caused network and service access issues on December 2. If the testing does not reveal the cause of the issues, more testing may need to be conducted on the following Tuesday morning. In this case, a new service alert will be issued.

Impact

For approximately 30 minutes near the end of the testing timeframe – 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Monday, December 21 – online services including, but not limited to, Buff Portal, MyCUInfo, Canvas, CU Boulder IdentiKey Manager, Federated Identity Service, Buff Portal Advising (BPA), Web Express could become unavailable.
