Description
OIT will reboot network switches in a number of residence halls between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m. on Friday, January 4, making both wired and Wi-Fi networks unavailable for 10 to 20 minutes in rolling outages across five residence hall buildings (see Affected Buildings below). This maintenance is necessary to install new code to address a bug that has been affecting network performance in the residence halls and HDS buildings.
Impact
The wired network, Wi-Fi networks (including UCB Wireless, UCB Guest, eduroam, UCB Fixed, all private SSIDs), and VoIP phone service will be unavailable for 10 to 20 minutes in rolling outages across five residence hall buildings (see Affected Buildings below) between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m. on Friday, January 4.
