Description
OIT Identity & Access Management is implementing a change to CU Boulder enterprise person data to improve legacy, all-capital-letter surnames such that only the first letter will be capitalized (or the first letter of each part of the surname if it consists of multiple names). While not the case today, historically, employee name data was fully capitalized, and some of these names make their way into various applications and services.
Impact
The change will be staged during the day on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, and will impact nightly automated processes that begin at 5pm daily. Some, but not all, processes and data feeds to downstream consumers already implement logic to capitalize the first letter(s) only, thus some surnames may change, for example from WILSON to Wilson or WILSON-SMITH to Wilson-Smith.
