Service Restored at 5:30 PM on 3/7/2024: The issue impacting the Network Access Control (NAC) system has been resolved since 1:00 PM today. However, there is a chance that the issue could return. As such, OIT is closely monitoring the system. In addition, the vendor is currently reviewing the data to identify the root cause in order to work towards a long term solution.

In the event that OIT becomes aware that the issue has returned we will issue a new service alert. 

If you have been unable to connect to UCB wireless please try again. It may help to restart your device if you still cannot access the registration page for UCB wireless. If you continue to experience connections issues to UCB wireless please contact the IT Service Center for assistance. 

Issue Reported at 11:30 AM on 3/7/2024: The Network Access Control (NAC) system that authenticates new Wi-Fi devices on UCB Wireless is currently experiencing performance issues. Symptoms include:

  • Not being able to connect to the registration portal, thus preventing internet access. 
  • Not being able to setup your new Secure Computing Mac or Windows system using campus wireless.

If you are experiencing this issue, please contact the ITSC and OIT will manually add your device to UCB Wireless.  There is no impact to devices that have previously authenticated on UCB Wireless.  

OIT is currently investigating and will provide updates as soon as the issue has been resolved.
