File Storage - Connecting to a File Share - Windows 7

Follow the instructions below to connect to map a drive to your group or individual file share space on Windows. Please Note: If you're off-campus or on UCB Guest, connect with CU Boulder's VPN first.

Step

Click on the Start menu and select Computer.

Step

Select Map Network Drive then select a drive letter from the drop-down menu that appears.

Step

In the Folder text field, enter the server address that you received from OIT when your account was provisioned, or ask the group admin in your department for the address.

The address will be structured like the following: \\server.colorado.edu\sharename\

Note: The 'server' and 'sharename' you need in order to connect were provided to you by OIT.

Step

Check mark Connect using different credentials.

Chect mark Reconnect at Logon if you want the mapping to be persistent (remain after a restart).

Click on Finish.

Step

A window will open to enter your credentials.

In the User name: text field enter ad\Identikey. For example, ad\buffalor.

In the Password: text field enter your Identikey password.

Click on the OK button.

Step

The network drive will now appear as an additional drive that you can click to open.
