Description

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) will be performing an upgrade to the emergency power distribution system, including the main uninterruptible power supply (UPS), in the Computing Center’s datacenter on Friday, November 23, starting at 5 a.m. The upgrade is scheduled to be complete by Sunday, November 25 at 5 p.m. This upgrade will replace the existing UPS and support other upgrades to the emergency power distribution system for the data center in the Computing Center. The purpose of these upgrades is to resolve the issues encountered at this facility in September 2011 and January 2012.  Critical campus services will be connected to a temporary UPS system and will remain on-line during the upgrade.

Impact

There should be no impact to campus enterprise services as a result of this upgrade; however, until the work is complete there is an elevated risk that campus enterprise services could experience an interruption should utility power be interrupted for an extended period of time.
