Description

Service Maintenance Completed at 7:03 a.m.: The new campus border routers have been brought online successfully. Network Operations will continue to test and monitor.

New campus border routers, designed to enhance the science network's connection to internal and external research networks, will be brought online the morning of August 2, from 5:00 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. In addition, the science network uplink will subsequently be moved onto the new border routers. This implementation will move routing off of the current border routers, leaving them to function as firewalls only.

Impact

There will be intermittent Internet connectivity during the cutover to the new border routers. Specifically, instability will be seen when trying to access campus resources and applications from outside the UCB network (including via VPN) and vice versa: when trying to access the commercial Internet from the UCB network.
