Protect Your Devices Through CU Boulder's Anti-Theft Registration Program

Submitted by stauffeg on

The Office of Information Technology provides a free registration service for laptops and other portable computing devices. A registered computer is less attractive to would-be thieves and is easier to recover if it is ever lost or stolen.

When a device is registered through the program the serial number is recorded and an anti-theft sticker is applied to the device. If a registered device is reported as lost or stolen, it is recorded and entered into a statewide database of stolen property. When a registered device is found, the sticker provides identifying information that can make it easily identified and returned to its owner.

Registration is always available throughout the year at Buff Techs Desktop Support locations.
