In order to help support CU Boulder’s switch to online-only learning, temporary free software licenses are being offered for Adobe Creative Cloud (CC), SAS, SPSS and IDL. These free licenses are available to CU Boulder students, faculty and staff for a limited time. More details can be found below.
Adobe CC licenses
Adobe is temporarily providing Adobe Creative Cloud (CC) licenses free of charge to CU Boulder students, faculty and staff. The license will expire May 31, 2020, and you must have a CU Boulder IdentiKey and an active CU Boulder affiliation to access the software.
Here is how to download and activate Adobe Creative Cloud.
The Creative Cloud suite includes Acrobat Pro, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Lightroom, Illustrator, InDesign, Bridge, Dreamweaver, Audition, Flash, Acrobat, After Effects, Animate, and Fireworks. See the full list of products included. Through the full suite of Adobe CC products, students, faculty, and staff members have access to a host of creative tools for digital imaging, design, web, and video, as well as online services including free storage for files.
Don’t forget that you can learn how to use Photoshop, and many of the other Adobe CC apps, with free courses offered in LinkedIn Learning. Adobe also offers free Creative Cloud tutorials.

SAS, SPSS and IDL licenses
The Office of Information Technology (OIT) is now providing SAS, SPSS, and IDL software licenses to CU Boulder students, instructors, and researchers affected by the COVID-19 situation at no cost until normal campus operations resume.
To order a license, please visit OIT’s Order Software page and provide the name of the course or research project that requires the software.
SAS is statistical data analysis software that is available for computers with Windows or Linux operating systems.
SPSS is software made for SPSS statistics and data analysis that is available for computers with Mac, Windows or Linux operating systems.
IDL is a scientific programming language used across disciplines to extract meaningful visualizations from complex numerical data, and includes ENVI analytics. The software is available for computers with Mac, Windows or Linux operating systems.
