If you are experiencing issues staying connected or simply connecting to the campus Wi-Fi, try these tips!
- Disconnect and reconnect.
- Be aware that wireless access points are not located outside so Wi-Fi connections between buildings may be spotty.
- Turn off any other Wi-Fi devices in the area that broadcast a wireless signal (e.g. Wi-Fi printer, smartphone Wi-Fi hotspot). For a full list of interference sources visit oit.colorado.edu/interference-sources.
- You may have a device with an older Wi-Fi card. Campus recommends having a computer with Dual Band spectrum (2.4 GHZ and 5 GHz) 802.11n or 802.11ac for wireless networks. See specifications on the OIT website.
- Check available Wi-Fi networks. Are there other networks with a strong signal? They could be negatively impacting your Wi-Fi experience and personal Wi-Fi routers are prohibited on campus.
- Still not working? Submit a ticket to the IT Service Center at oit.colorado.edu/networkissues.
