Service Update

Features

Distance Learning Studios staff are responsible for day to day operations in distance learning spaces. This includes support for synchronous (real time) participants and asynchronous (on demand) recorded delivery, as well as in-class professor/presenter support. For more information, see the Distance Learning Studios FAQ.

  • Synchronous student participation
  • Operator controlled lecture capture (including multi-camera switching, and multiple microphone audio capture)
  • On-demand recorded lecture delivery
  • Make-up or pre-recordings of lectures
  • Recording and support for final exams
  • Support for student or special presentations
  • Integration with Distance Education events offered by the Graduate School 

Software

Zoom

Zoom is the web conferencing software used by remote students to join distance education classes synchronously. For more information (and to download/install Zoom), please visit CU Boulder's Zoom page.

Mediasite

Mediasite is the recording tool used to deliver on demand distance content. For more information, please use the following tutorials: 

Lecture Access

Log in to Canvas with your IdentiKey and password to access recorded lectures which you are authorized to view.

 

Cost

For Distance Education courses offered through the Graduate School, there is no charge for this service. 

Events/courses which are NOT offered through the Graduate School will incur a service fee. After submitting your request to oithelp@colorado.edu, a representative from OIT will contact you regarding the potential cost(s) associated with your request(s).

Service Cost Features
Operator assisted studio recording $150/hour Features dedicated classroom audiovisual support, multi-camera session recording, and real time web conferencing. Includes hosting of recorded content for one semester and access to download and export recordings.
Additional Coordination $45/hour Includes coordination, set-up, other unique circumstances. 
Content export $45/hour Applies to requests for previously-recorded content.

Learning Spaces Technology

OIT’s Learning Spaces Technology team provides support for technology equipped classrooms, as well as defining, revisiting, and revising technology standards for teaching and learning spaces. LST also supports:
