Paola Solorzano Bravo

A Colorado native, Paola (she/her/hers) is a recent graduate with a B.S. in Creative Technology and Design from the University of Colorado Boulder. Paola joined OIT’s User Experience Research & Design (UXRD) team in May of 2022 as a Student Assistant UX Writer and Researcher and is now working as a Temporary Employee in that same role. In that position, she works with students and assists content creation as well as UX research to support the development and improvement of Buff Portal. Her favorite thing about working on the team is that she gets to work directly with students and different offices across the university to improve the student and user experience at CU Boulder!

Paola’s interests and passions with UX stem from her participation in Design for America (DFA), a student-led organization dedicated to creating awareness of design thinking and human-centered design through working on various projects in the community. Paola has been involved with DFA since 2020, first as a project member and then as a project co-lead.

With DFA, Paola co-lead a team working in conjunction with Greenhouse Scholars conducting research to gather student feedback to inform improvements to the scholars’ professional development modules. Prior to that, Paola was involved in a DFA project working alongside Buff Portal to better understand the challenges and opportunities with CU’s online advising tools.

In the fall of 2022, Paola also led a project working in conjunction with the Buff Portal team conducting initial research to gather student feedback to inform an improved homepage/dashboard experience in Buff Portal.

Outside of work and academics, Paola enjoys spending time with her family, listening to music, playing board games, and reading.

Paola supports undocumented students, staff, and their families.
