Join us for the National Artificial Intelligence Research Resource (NAIRR) pilot project Researcher Showcase, where esteemed panelists will share insights into their cutting-edge work, motivations, challenges, and experiences. This event provides a unique opportunity to connect with leaders in the field of AI research and education, making it ideal for individuals of all skill levels who are interested in AI advancements.
The showcase will feature two sessions, each highlighting a different group of panelists, with representatives from the NAIRR initiative present to answer questions and provide an overview of the pilot project. Click on the links to register.
Opportunities for researchers
Researchers are encouraged to submit projects to the NAIRR Pilot Resource Requests. Researchers can request access to a set of computing, model, platform and educational resources for projects related to advancing AI research. Be a part of this unique opportunity!
What is NAIRR?
NAIRR, established under an Executive Order by President Biden in January, is a pivotal initiative aimed at democratizing access to AI resources for U.S. researchers and educators. This pilot project connects researchers with essential computational, data, software, and training resources, enabling them to advance AI research and AI-driven innovations.
CU Boulder leaders like Alana Romanella, Deputy Director of ACCESS, and Shelley Knuth, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Research Computing at CU Boulder, are driving efforts to enhance the overall user experience. Their recommendations aim to empower researchers to achieve their goals within NAIRR’s national research infrastructure, facilitating breakthroughs in AI while ensuring that privacy, civil rights, and civil liberties remain central to the initiative.
"Democratizing access to cyberinfrastructure is a core part of our mission in Research Computing, and our involvement in this national effort allows us to amplify our impact on a larger scale," says Knuth.
By offering AI resources to those who need them most, NAIRR is bridging the gap for researchers who lack the tools to fully explore their work or train the next generation of AI innovators. This effort fosters responsible, trustworthy AI development that can accelerate discoveries, drive societal progress, and address global challenges.
