New login pages and terms of use

Submitted by stauffeg on

The login screen for many campus services looks a little different and the process now includes an acknowledgement of terms since an update that was made on August 11.

CU Boulder’s Federated Identity Service provides access to multiple services via single sign-on through IdentiKey authentication. You use this service to log in to things like Canvas, MyCUInfo, Buff Portal, Qualtrics and other services. Those login pages didn’t all look the same before, but they do now. Members of campus who tested the new login pages commented that the pages are now more clean, simple and clear. You can see an example of a new login page below.

The first time you encounter one of the new login pages it may display incorrectly depending upon how your web browser caches pages. If you find the page has an expanded header section or other layout issues as shown in the screenshot below, clearing your browser cache can fix this.

Also, an acknowledgement of terms of use will be presented to you the first time you log in following the upgrade. These terms of use are similar to the Acceptable Use of CU Boulder’s IT Resources acknowledgement that everyone must accept upon logging into the campus network for the first time. A terms of use acceptance is required by a global federation for single sign-on access of which the university is a member. After accepting the terms of use, you will be passed through to the service you were logging in to and not have to accept them again.
