CUClickers / iClickers

The CUClickers, or iClicker technology, allows students to participate in classes and answer questions provided by the instructor. OIT’s iClicker service is available in most classrooms and lecture hall media cabinets.

  Download Software

  1. Before the start of each semester, make sure you are using the most recent OIT provided i>clicker software. Download CUClicker software (login required)
  2. Please trade in any receiver lacking a blue sticker for one with a sticker. The blue sticker indicates that the receiver has newest firmware and is necessary for compatibility with the campus CUClicker service and to record student data. To return an old i>clicker receiver and get a new one, contact the IT Service Center.

  • Uses iClicker software and remotes.
  • Integrates with learning management system gradebooks.
  • Base stations are available in most classrooms and large lecture halls across campus and can be checked out from OIT for use in rooms where they are not already deployed.
  • Student iClicker remotes are associated with CU Identikeys. This allows instructors to gather accurate data on student responses.
  • OIT provides the best and most reliable version of iClicker software.
  • Improves student learning when used according to best practices.


  • iClicker hardware is already deployed in every central classroom on campus with more than 40 seats.
  • Central rooms, no matter the size have been assigned iClicker remote frequencies.
  • Most departmental rooms have bases and frequencies, and OIT will deploy a base to any room with greater than 40 seats upon request.
  • Instructors can check out a base station from Norlin Library for rooms with fewer than 40 seats with a Buff OneCard.


iClicker infrastructure is provided as a common-good to the campus which means there is no direct cost to you or your department. iClicker remotes cost $49.95 at the CU Bookstore

iClicker remotes are available to all CU Boulder faculty, staff and students.
