Training and Support for Teaching Remotely

OIT is offering a number of live scheduled trainings and recorded on-demand sessions to support instructors teaching remotely in the Spring semester as well as those preparing to teach Summer courses. In addition to the pre-scheduled and on-demand sessions, we can facilitate a customized training or a series of trainings for your group or department. Remote-Capable Classrooms for Hybrid Teaching

This training will prepare you to use the new Remove-Capable Classroom (RCC) technology available in many of the classrooms on campus. RCC allows instructors to simultaneously deliver lectures to students physically present in the classroom as well as to students participating remotely. This training will demonstrate the Remote-Capable Classrooms to you in action.

This session will be offered simultaneously via Zoom and in-person. In-person capacity is limited to 12 people in order to safely distance participants. Zoom participation link will be provided in the registration confirmation email. Facilitated by Jordan Price, Classroom Support Administrator, OIT

During this training, participants will learn:
  • How to connect a device to a Crestron Mercury X system in a Remote-Capable Classroom
  • How to run remote sessions through Zoom
  • The best ways to adjust a camera, microphone, speakers, and how to use adapters available in the system

CU is transitioning from iClicker Classic to iClicker Cloud during academic year 2020-21. During this interactive training session you will learn how to set up iClicker Cloud, activate iClicker Sync in your Canvas course, and practice creating and delivering polls. You'll also learn how to help students be successful using iClicker Reef and get a tour of iClicker Reef from the student point of view.

Before attending a training, request a Canvas course using MyCUInfo, and download the iClicker Cloud software. Space is limited to 12 attendees per session. Confirmation of enrollment will be sent via email within three business days.

This workshop will contextualize and provide an orientation to the use of ePortfolios for teaching, learning, and assessment at the course and program levels. Workshop participants will engage with the key functionalities and tools within Digication as they design an ePortfolio assignment and build an ePortfolio template for their course.   • Define ePortfolio as a process ("folio thinking") and a product
  • Describe different ways ePortfolio can be used at the course and program levels in Higher Ed
