Service issue updated at 1:00 p.m.: If you are an Apple Mail user experiencing issues accessing the Microsoft Exchange email and calendaring service, please perform the following steps to restore access:

  1. Restart your computer.
  2. Open Apple Mail and verify that ALL mail, calendar, and contact configurations match those provided at http://www.colorado.edu/oit/exchange/apple-reconfigure.
  3. If they do not match, you are welcome to follow the instructions provided in this documentation to reconfigure your Apple mail, calendar, and contacts; or, if you prefer, call the IT Service Center at 303-735-4357 for assistance with these reconfigurations.
  4. If you do perform the reconfiguration on your own, but are still experiencing issues after performing the steps provided in the documentation, call the IT Service Center at 303-735-4357 for additional steps you can take.

Service issue updated at 11:45 a.m.: OIT is still actively working to restore Apple Mail access to Microsoft Exchange. Thank you to everyone who provided additional details on their environments and specific access issues. We will continue to post regular updates via this service alert.

Service issue updated at 10:00 a.m.: In an attempt to restore Apple Mail access to Microsoft Exchange, OIT will be performing work on the service that may result in brief disruptions to the Exchange service between 10:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Most Exchange clients should recover automatically; however, if you are accessing your Exchange account via the web client (https://exchangeweb.colorado.edu), you may need to log back in again.

Service issue updated at 9:00 a.m.: OIT is still investigating this issue. If you are experiencing difficulties accessing your Exchange email account via the Apple Mail client, please email us with the following information:

  • Version number of Apple Mail
  • Where connection is being attempted from (i.e. on or off campus)
  • A description of the issue/error message that is occurring when access via the Apple Mail client is attempted
  • Name and contact information

Service issue reported at 6:45 a.m.: It has been reported that some users of Apple Mail are not able to connect to the Microsoft Exchange email and calendaring service. This is likely a result of yesterday's Microsoft Exchange maintenance event. OIT is investigating. Until access from Apple Mail is restored, use the https://exchangeweb.colorado.edu client as a workaround.
