Large File Transfer - Log In

The following tutorial will take you through the process of logging into the Large File Transfer service.

Please Note: If you try to login with a non-CU email address, and you do not already have a recipient account in the Large File Transfer service, you will be denied login. Only CU Boulder campus faculty, staff and student employees are pre-registered with LFT accounts.

Step

Go to https://filetransfer.colorado.edu. In the login window, enter your email address, then click Next.

Step

The LFT service uses Multi-Factor Authentication for secure login, so an Office 365 browser window will appear and prompt you for your IdentiKey@colorado.edu email address.

Step

Enter your IdentiKey password, then click Next. You will prompted by a phone call, text message, or by the Microsoft Authenticator App to authenticate and finish the log in process.

Please note: To edit or change your multi-factor authentication settings, please visit the Register and Set Up MFA or the Set up Microsoft Authenticator App tutorial.

Step

If you entered an email address that does not end in colorado.edu, you will be prompted for your Large File Transfer account password on the same screen. Enter the password you chose when creating this account, then click Sign In. If you entered your credentials correctly and you are registered with an account, the Large File Transfer webpage will appear. You should now be logged into your Inbox.

Step

If you try to login with a non-CU email address, and you do not already have a recipient account in the Large File Transfer service, you will be denied login with the pictured error message. Only CU Boulder campus faculty, staff and students are pre-registered with LFT accounts.
