Service Restored on 7/3/2024 at 12:00PM: After working with the vendor OIT has identified the root cause of the issue and has implemented a solution. All services have returned to their normal state. If you continue to experience issues please contact OIT for assistance. 

Service Issue Updated on 6/28/2024 at 5:00 PM: The border firewall is now stable but running in a non-redundant state. OIT's networking team will continue work on a permanent resolution, assessing proposed changes for risk.

Service Issue Updated on 6/28/2024 at 12:08 PM: The border firewall upgrade has completed; however, the campus network is still running in a degraded state. Network staff continue to work with the vendor's advanced technical team and are monitoring firewalls for stability.

Service Issue Updated on 6/28/2024 at 10:30 AM: OIT will be performing an upgrade to the border firewalls starting at 10:30 am today. We expect there will be network disruptions for up to an hour. This could impact VPN connections, campus internet, and the ability to sign into OIT services.  

Service Issue Updated on 6/28/2024 at 9:20 AM: The issues are ongoing. Campus is currently experiencing a network issue that is impacting many services including, Internet on campus, VPN, and many OIT services. We are working to restore the network to a stable state. We thank you for your patience as we continue to troubleshoot this issue. 

Service Issue Updated on 6/27/2024 at 9:00 PM: OIT continues to work with our vendor in regards to the issue impacting the campus network. There could be disruptions to the campus network, VPN, and OIT services throughout the night as we troubleshoot the issue.

Service Issue Updated on 6/27/2024 at 12:15 PM: OIT has confirmed that the network is stable and all services are currently restored. We continue to work with our vendor to investigate what caused the issues. We will provide another update once we have concluded our investigation. 

Service Issue Updated on 6/27/2024 at 10:25 AM: The campus network is currently in a stable state. We believe that VPN connections and most on campus connections have been restored. OIT continues to investigate the issue. We will post another update if services become impacted again. 

It is possible there are remaining issues with services hosted in the SPSC data center. If you manage a service hosted in the SPSC data center and are experiencing issues please contact OIT for assistance. 

Service Issue Reported on 6/27/2024 at 7:32 AM: OIT is aware of an issue impacting the campus network. This is impacting internet access from campus and VPN access to campus. We are currently investigating and working to restore service.

 

IMPACT:

  • Connections to Campus VPN
  • Internet Access from on Campus
  • Access to many services including MyCUInfo and Contact Center Technology
  • Any Service that requires the Federated Identity Service (Fed auth) to sign in (e.g. Canvas, Buff Portal, etc..)
