Service Restored: UPS Installation (Localized Network Outages)

Description

In order to install new uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs), on Saturday, October 15 there will be a number of brief network outages in specific buildings on campus (see Affected Buildings below). These new UPSs will help sustain network switches in these buildings during short-duration power outages, resulting in more reliable network services.

Impact

Each network and wireless connection in the affected buildings (see Affected Buildings below) will experience one or more 5-10 minute outages as network equipment is moved to these new UPSs.

Affected Buildings

MCDB, Muenzinger, Physics (Duane & LASP), Porter, Stadium, Stadium Skybox, Stadium Ticket Office.
