With the start of the fall 2020 semester, OIT will provide a new support model to assist instructors who teach in Remote-Capable Classrooms equipped with the Crestron Mercury X video conference system.
The Technology Copilots will provide assistance to instructors in Remote-Capable Classrooms as they use teaching technologies and facilitate remote students’ participation. Technology Copilots will be able to assist with the set up and facilitation of the Crestron Mercury X systems, Zoom, and iClicker, and ensure remote students have a voice in the classroom.
Technology Copilot training is available to Teaching Assistants, Learning Assistants, student volunteers, or others who assist faculty in the classroom. An online community of Technology Copilots is available for asking questions and sharing best practices.
OIT also has a limited number of Technology Copilots available for Fall 2020 who can be assigned to remote-capable classrooms with Crestron Mercury A/V systems installed. All Remote-Capable Classrooms will be listed on the Hybrid-Capable Classrooms List as they are confirmed and installed.
Instructors can request a Technology Copilot, or training for a Copilot applicant, through this request form.
This service is offered for the fall 2020 semester with CARES Act funding. To learn more about the Technology Copilots program, please visit the Technology Copilots service page.
