For nearly a year OIT has been preparing to migrate the campus telephone system from Cisco to Microsoft Teams, and our team is pleased to announce that migrations for campus departments will start on January 3, 2023!
Most of the campus community will transition to using “soft phones” via the Microsoft Teams application instead of physical phones. In common locations such as classrooms, labs, and other areas that require them for safety reasons, OIT will be replacing existing physical phones with new models that are compatible with Microsoft Teams.
Curious about when you and your department will be moved? Visit the Teams Calls project page for a full list of migration groups and dates.
What to expect during a Teams Calls migration
OIT will send weekly emails to each group starting 3 weeks before the migration date. These emails will confirm your migration date and contain important information and resources about Teams Calls. Watch this brief video to learn more about what to expect during your teams Calls migration:
Start using Microsoft Teams
Faculty, staff, and students at CU Boulder are already provisioned with Microsoft Teams, so you can log in to the web version or download the Teams application and start chatting or meeting with colleagues immediately. OIT’s Microsoft Teams page has a number of resources including videos and tutorials for using Teams, and extensive help resources on meetings, chat, and organization.
If you have questions about the project, please contact the IT Service Center at 303-735-4357 or oithelp@colorado.edu, or email your questions about the project to msvoicequestions@colorado.edu.
