2017 OIT Services Survey Results & Next Steps

Submitted by jach7912 on

In January, we asked for your opinion regarding OIT services and received approximately a thirty percent response rate. Thank you for your feedback!  Your input helps guide our decisions about where we should be focusing our resources and services.

Initial Results

Kudos

The IT Service Center, Dedicated Desktop Support, Microsoft Exchange, and IdentiKey services received strong positive ratings.

Opportunities for Improvement

We heard that you want a better user experience with our services. There’s dissatisfaction with the interface design of the MyCUInfo portal and the associated tools accessed from the portal. Also, you struggle with bandwidth and capacity on the campus network, particularly the wireless network.

Requests

There were a number of requests, below are a few trends that emerged:

  • Improved security, reliability, and backups
  • Expand cloud computing services
  • A single calendaring system for the campus
  • More IT training for faculty and staff
  • Respond to and resolve problems more quickly

Next Steps

We are grateful for the feedback and are examining results. We are planning a second round of more focused inquiries around specific questions the results have raised which will take the form of focused interviews, mini-surveys, and focus groups. Once we have an action plan in place, an update communication will be issued.
