Zoom - Enable High-Fidelity Music Mode

This feature is designed to provide higher quality audio for meetings related to performing arts, music lessons, songwriting and more. Please note that this setting will modify echo-cancellation, disable post-processing, and audio compression. Please only enable this setting if you require higher audio quality for the applications above. This feature generally requires the use of a high quality USB microphone or audio interface.

Please note: This user guide assumes that you are running Zoom version 5.4.9 or higher. Please ensure your Zoom application is up to date before proceeding.

Step

Open Zoom and click the gear icon to open the desktop application settings.

Select the Audio tab, then select Original sound for Musicians.

It is recommended to leave Echo Cancellation enabled to prevent feedback. From here, you may also enable high fidelity music mode (recommended) and stereo audio (if required).

After enabling the desired settings, you will now have the option to click Turn on Original Sound in the top left corner of any meeting. You may toggle the setting off and on as needed. If you do not see this setting when in a meeting, you may need to sign out of Zoom and back in with SSO.
