FAQs

Who should request Jabber?

Any faculty or Staff member can request an instance of Jabber from OIT, but many University affiliates may not need this service. If you are working remotely and routinely need to contact individuals or vendors outside of the CU system, you are a good candidate. If you rarely or never need this functionality, we recommend you use Microsoft Teams' audio-only option.

After installing Jabber, Outlook is not working properly.

Jabber can break presence in Outlook. Learn how to fix this issue and re-install Jabber to remedy/prevent Outlook problems, or contact the IT Service Center for help at 303-735-4357 or oithelp@colorado.edu.
