Description

Service issue update and revision: We apologize for the earlier classification of this service alert. Requiring users to manually trust a stated untrusted website is not a "minimal disruption." Rather, the service alert should have indicated that the service was unavailable and not functioning because OIT's stance is to always heed security warnings and contact the IT Service Center for further direction. The expiration of an OIT-owned certificate was an avoidable occurrence and we will work toward improving internal procedures to ensure this doesn’t happen in the future.

Service restored at 10:43 a.m.: A new SSL certificate has been successfully loaded and tested.

Service issue reported at 9:30 a.m.: The SSL certificate for the Juniper SSL VPN service has expired as of January 31, 2014.  A new certificate has been requested. Until the new certificate is applied, users of the VPN service will receive a message when visiting the site warning them that the certificate has expired and asking if they still wish to continue.
