UCB Files allows you to undelete or restore previous versions of files up to 2 weeks in the past. UCB Files keeps hourly snapshots of your data for the past 48 hours, and daily snapshots for the past 14 days.
Windows
- To undelete a file or retrieve a previous version of a file, open Windows File Explorer, right-click on the folder where your file was located and select Properties.
- Click on the Previous Versions tab.
- You are presented with a list of previous versions of that folder, sorted in reverse chronological order. Select the date and time of the version you would like to restore from, then click Open.
- The new Windows File Explorer window that appears is a read-only snapshot of the data you had in that folder in the past. Find your file and then restore it by copying it back to your other Windows File Explorer window.
Mac
At this time, Macs do not have the ability to retrieve previous versions of files. If you need to retrieve a file, either connect to your account on Windows and follow the instructions above or contact the IT Service Center at 303-735-4357 or oithelp@colorado.edu.
