Description

Service Issue Reported at 11:47 a.m.: Intermittent service impacts to the Cisco VPN have been reported. OIT is investigating and the vendor has been engaged for troubleshooting.

Service Issue Updated at 3:48 p.m.: Border router/firewall maintenance has been scheduled for 6:00 a.m., Saturday, June 8 to address the Cisco VPN issue.

Service Issue Updated at 6:03 p.m.: The primary campus border router unexpectedly reset itself at 5:30 p.m. and was offline for approximately 15 minutes. While restoring the configuration to a clean production state, the primary firewall processors crashed and initiated a reset of the firewall. Service appears to be back to normal but OIT will continue to monitor it. A code upgrade has already been scheduled for 6am tomorrow (Saturday) morning.

Service Restored at 6:28 a.m., Saturday, June 8: Upgrade of campus border routers was successful. All systems normal.

Impact

Cisco VPN provides a secure on-campus network connection for users who are away from campus or on UCB Wireless. Service impacts have been reported by CU Foundation, Athletics, and some off-campus users.
