Since its release this September, OIT has been testing Apple’s macOS 10.14 Mojave operating system for compatibility with campus services. We are pleased to report that compatibility issues have been addressed and that we now recommend Mac owners upgrade to the most recent release of Mojave. As a result of this change, macOS High Sierra is now in the “upgrade soon” category.
The primary change from previous OSes is how Mojave handles privacy restrictions for how applications access the camera or microphone, user data, and specific system processes. These privacy restrictions result in numerous prompts with an application's request to access these areas. If an application cannot correctly prompt the user, the request may fail silently or cause the application to become unresponsive. If a user chooses Don't Allow from a prompt, the application or process will be prevented from accessing the resource.
