ICT Review Process Updates

OIT is happy to announce some exciting updates to the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) review process that are designed to make the experience smoother and more efficient for everyone on campus.

What is the ICT Review Process?

The ICT review process ensures that software, hardware, and other IT products used at CU Boulder meet the campus’s security and accessibility standards. The procurement or renewal of any product whose principal function involves creating, storing, managing, or transmitting university information needs to go through an ICT review.

Changes to the Process

The updated ICT process will be similar to the previous version. The process now leverages ServiceNow for form submission, so links to forms A, B, and C have been updated. ServiceNow allows greater automation capabilities, so you will get immediate requests for Form B and C (when necessary) based on your answers during Form A submission. Form B and/or C will be presented via unique links generated in your ServiceNow ticket.

All forms have new, more detailed questions asking about the use of the product being procured. If you’re not sure how to answer any of the questions, please provide the best description you can or contact ICTCompliance@Colorado.EDU for assistance completing the form.

Technology that involves sensitive data, broad campus audiences, or significant security and accessibility considerations, requires a more robust review to  ensure these products meet CU Boulder security and accessibility standards. If your technology purchase requires a more robust review, vendors may be asked to provide additional documentation about the accessibility and security of their product. When requesting additional documentation, we will always ask for the documents to be sent via email to ICTCompliance@Colorado.EDU.
