Making CU Boulder’s digital environments more inclusive and accessible for everyone is a goal that is best reached when all of us work together. When you discover an accessibility issue with a campus service or website, know that our campus has processes and resources dedicated to resolving these issues. By reporting these issues, you not only help focus the work of those on campus who are addressing accessibility and usability issues, but you also tap into the growing knowledge base of campus information and communication technology (ICT) issues and solutions.
Reporting accessibility issues can include everything from reporting the lack of image tags on a campus website to accessibility problems you find in campus services like the portal. You can learn if an accessibility issue is already being addressed by visiting the Accessibility Current Status page.
Here are the ways you can report, and get help for, campus accessibility issues.
Use the Feedback Form
Perhaps the easiest way to report an accessibility issue that one might find on a website for example, is to use our online accessibility feedback form. Fill out the form to tell us about problems using a particular campus application or even to share information about the accessibility of a service that we should share with others
Contact the IT Service Center
You are also welcome to contact the IT Service Center when you encounter accessibility issues. They are building a knowledge base of campus ICT accessibility issues which means that they might have a solution or workaround for the problem that you have encountered. Issues that cannot be resolved by the IT Service Center are routed to the ICT Accessibility and Usability group for resolution.
Utilize Desktop Support Services
If you prefer in-person support for accessibility issues, OIT’s desktop support staff (both Buff Techs Desktop Support and Dedicated Desktop Support) are who you should turn to. Faculty and staff who don’t have Dedicated Desktop Support and can’t come to one of our walk-in locations, are welcome to utilize our Dispatched Desktop Support service to schedule an appointment at your office.
You might find the solution to your accessibility issue in the Resources section of CU Boulder’s Accessible Technology website. But if you don’t find the answer there, please don’t hesitate to contact OIT at help@colorado.edu or call 303-735-4357 (5-HELP from a campus phone). No matter what the ICT accessibility issue or question, we’re here to help.
