VoiceThread

With VoiceThread, people can have asynchronous group conversations around images, documents, videos and presentations they upload to the site. Once a user shares a VoiceThread, others can comment on it verbally (with a microphone or telephone), with text, by uploading an audio file, or by recording a video with their webcam. Additionally, others can review the comments and see who made them.

Notice of Service Retirement

Due to low usage, VoiceThread was retired as a common-good service on May 30, 2025.

Please note that the free license and some of the lower-tier licenses don't support Canvas integrations. If the free license doesn't meet your needs, please contact the vendor to learn about departmental licensing.

Student Data & OIT Services

The University of Colorado uses a variety of data types to facilitate the academic experience and advance student success. To promote good digital citizenship, CU Boulder has created a resource for our student and faculty communities to better understand how student data is used within OIT's services and tools.
