Microsoft 365 uses our campus Active Directory (AD) to automatically synchronize with your IdentiKey username and password.
Account Provisioning and Information
Faculty and Staff
New faculty, staff and officer/professional positions are automatically provisioned with a Microsoft 365 account, which includes Outlook, OneDrive for Business, SharePoint, Stream, Teams and more. After receiving an IdentiKey, an account will generally follow for new users within one business day.
If a new employee has an IdentiKey from a previous role but no CU Boulder email account, submit the New Exchange Mailbox Request Form in OIT's Messaging and Collaboration Request Portal.
Departments need to inform OIT when a faculty or staff member leaves the university in order to terminate the account. Similarly, if the faculty or staff member transitions to a retiree, alumnus or other university affiliation, notify OIT.
Students
CU Boulder students have access to Microsoft 365 programs, including Outlook, OneDrive for Business, SharePoint, Stream, Teams and more.
Student Employees
Student employees can use their primary Microsoft Outlook account for email and calendaring, but many departments prefer to request a secondary account to isolate work-related messages and tasks to a separate account that can be terminated when the student employee leaves the department.
To request a secondary account for a student employee, the student's supervisor should submit the Student Employee Account Request Form on OIT's Messaging and Collaboration Request portal.
