Service Issue Resolved Tuesday, August 18: OIT has re-enabled the Annotation feature for CU Boulder Zoom accounts. The newest version of Zoom has a patch for this issue. CU Boulder Zoom users will be prompted to update to the most recent version of Zoom if they have not logged in recently.
Service Issue Reported at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12: OIT is aware of a vulnerability in Zoom Workplace Clients that may allow a malicious meeting participant to execute code on another participant's device during a screen-sharing session. The vulnerability is associated with the Annotation feature. To help reduce risk, OIT has disabled the Annotation feature for all CU Boulder Zoom accounts while users update to the latest Zoom version.
Required Action: Update your software
CU Boulder users with Zoom clients older than version 7.1.5 will automatically be prompted to update their software to the latest version the next time they launch Zoom.
