Abi Matthews works as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Office of Information Technology. She graduated Summa Cum Laude in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at CU Boulder in 2023 and is currently working on her Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Her background in research examines the use of augmentative and alternative communication in individuals with neurodegenerative diseases. She has presented at several national conferences such as the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (New Orleans, 2022) and the Assistive Technology and Industry Association (Miami, 2023).
Abi is passionate about the use of technology to better serve those with complex communication needs and technology's role in increasing accessibility for lower-income families. In her free time, she enjoys reading, (beginner) sailing, and trying new foods!
