Systems Engineering - Requesting Escalated Access

Systems Engineering (SE) clients obtaining escalated access on systems are responsible for reviewing the University-wide Standards, Procedures and Guidelines online document as well as the following conditions:

  • SE provides a service to configure and maintain systems that comply with the CU Boulder security standards and best practices, which are meant to reduce the possibility of systems becoming compromised, and to help ensure that proper licensing is in place for supported Operating Systems and applications.
  • While SE will continue to support managed servers where clients have escalated access, consulting fees may be applied to restore a server back to full functionality in the event of an incident or failure that is triggered by the client with escalated access.
  • Depending on the severity of the incident, compromise or failure that is trigger by the client with escalated access, the escalated access may be revoked and a review process may be required before escalated access is reinstated.
