Microsoft Visio

Visio is a diagramming and vector graphics application. Visio in Microsoft 365 allows both Windows and Mac users can work virtually anywhere, anytime. Visio Plan 2, the online version of professional edition, includes the Visio desktop app (Windows only).

There are two versions of Microsoft Visio editions available at CU Boulder:

Visio in Microsoft 365

  • A free limited online version of Visio that allows Windows and Mac users to view and edit Visio drawings. Recommended for Mac users. 

Visio Plan 2

  • Equivalent to Visio Professional, Visio Plan 2 includes the full web and desktop apps. Not recommended for Mac users.

Other conditions

  • Visio Plan 2 can be installed on Mac computers by using a virtual machine technology.
