Microsoft Select Plus

Overview

Purchasing Microsoft products from the Microsoft Campus Agreement is recommended by OIT to reduce costs and compliance risks. However, for products not available through the campus agreement, the State of Colorado Microsoft Select Plus Agreement is an option.

Products offered by the Select Plus Agreement are sold as perpetual licenses. A perpetual license is a “forever” license, unlike the Microsoft Campus Agreement licenses which are annually renewed subscriptions. Subscription licenses have advantages over perpetual licenses such as allowing for continual upgrades and access to Microsoft technical support. The equivalent is to purchase the perpetual license with Software Assurance which must be renewed annually.

Cost

*Please note: Office 365, Office 2021, and Windows Pro or Enterprise upgrades are offered at no cost through the Microsoft Campus Agreement.
