Classroom Capture Expansion Project

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) has expanded its Classroom Capture service, adding 22 new classrooms across campus, making it easier than ever for instructors to record and share course content. This expansion reflects continued investment in flexible teaching tools that support both in-person and remote learning.

What is Classroom Capture?

Classroom Capture allows instructors to automatically record everything in a lecture including audio, video, and presentation materials, then securely deliver them in Canvas courses. Classroom Capture recordings help reinforce learning, support students who cannot attend class, and provide valuable review materials throughout the semester. Plus, they provide valuable feedback to instructors on student engagement.

Classroom Capture recordings start automatically, so Instructors simply need to request the service, then set up as normal to give lectures. You teach, we’ll do the rest!

Expansion Project

Over the past year, OIT has evaluated current usage of the service as well as Instructor feedback to determine appropriate changes. With 22 new spaces, the Classroom Capture service is available in 72 classroom spaces on campus, enabling more instructors to take advantage of this service without needing to bring additional equipment or manage recordings themselves.
