Wired Internet - Windows Configuration

Use these instructions to connect to a network using a wired connection. Please note: The instructions below pertain to Windows 10, however, other version of Windows OS will have a similar process.

Step 1

After connecting your computer to an ethernet cable, click the Start button, and select Settings.

Step 2

Select Network and Internet.

Step 3

In Status, click Network and Sharing Center.

Step 4

Choose Change adapter settings on the left side menu.

Step 5

Right-click Ethernet and then choose Properties.

Step 6

Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), then click Properties

Step 7

Set up the IP to use, then click OK to save your settings. You may want to restart your computer.

Step 8

Open a web browser to test your connection. In some instances, you may be asked to register your computer onto CU Boulder's network. If you register your computer, you should clear your web browser's cache after registration.
