Clear the Web Browser Cache - Internet Explorer 10 & 11

Clearing a web browser’s cache can correct problems you may have using a web browser while on the CU Boulder network or using an OIT web based program, like Canvas or Buff Portal. OIT recommends that you perform this simple step before you start to surf the Web for the first time on the campus network. The instructions below demonstrate how to clear the cache using Internet Explorer 10 or 11.

Click on the Tools drop-down menu.

Step

Select Delete Browsing History from the Safety side-menu.

Step

In the window that opens, check the Temporary Internet Files and History checkbox and then click Delete. You may also want to check the Cookies and website data box, but it is not required.

Note: If the Preserve Favorites website data box is checked, Internet Explorer will keep the cache for bookmarked websites intact. To clear all of the cache be sure to have this box unchecked.
