With almost three years of experience on the User Experience Team at CU Boulder's Office of Information Technology, Shilpa Mehta began as a graduate student researcher and now serves as a Temporary UX Researcher.
In this role, she conducts research studies to collect, analyze, and communicate insights about user needs and experiences to key stakeholders across the university. Through user interviews, usability testing, survey analysis and observational studies, she identifies patterns, pain points and opportunities to guide improvements in the usability of CU's digital platforms, making them more intuitive, easier to navigate and better aligned with students' academic journeys.
Shilpa earned her Master's degree in Creative Technology and Design from CU Boulder in May 2025. Prior to graduate school, she worked in a Japanese financial corporation, where she supervised and optimized international trade operations.
Accessibility is at the heart of Shilpa's approach. Her UX work is driven by the belief that digital experiences should adapt to and be supportive of the full spectrum of human ability, backgrounds and lived experiences. She is continually learning and advocating for ways to make technology and other online experiences more accessible.
Outside of work, Shilpa enjoys exploring local events, staying active through casual sports, and has started to hike like a true Coloradan.
