Microsoft Planner & Project Plan 3

Planner and Project Plan 3 is a project management software that integrates with other Microsoft 365 tools. It provides a unified work management experience integrating Project for the web, To Do, Teams and Planner. CoPilot is also integrated with Planner and Project Plan 3, and can be used to generate tasks, goals and project plans.

The online features work on both Windows and Mac endpoints. Project Desktop can be locally installed and is included as part of the license. The Project Desktop installation requires the Windows operating system. It can be installed on a physical device or a virtual desktop. Mac users will need a virtual Windows desktop to install/use the desktop version.

What it is

Planner and Project Plan 3 replaces Project Plan 3. It includes both Project Online and the Microsoft Project desktop client. Project desktop requires the Windows operating system.

  • The Planner and Project Plan 3 desktop client can be installed on Mac computers using virtual machine technology.
