Description

UPDATE on 11/15/24: The Enterprise Database (EDB) maintenance has been delayed. The rescheduled maintenance window will be communicated as soon as it is determined.


The production Enterprise Database (EDB) service will undergo maintenance between 7 a.m. and noon on Saturday, Nov. 16. This will impact services that are dependent upon the EDB, including the Federated Identity Service and services that rely on it for logins. This maintenance is required to ensure continued database security, stability and functionality.

Impact

The Federated Identity Service will experience two outages of 5 to 15 minutes during the maintenance window. During these outages, new authentication activity and logins will not be possible for services such as MyCUInfo, Buff Portal, Canvas, and many more. Other services that depend upon the EDB may also experience interruptions during the maintenance window (see Affected Services below).

The Federated Identity Service/Shibboleth (fedauth.colorado.edu) and the following services that rely on it for authentication may experience brief interruptions during the maintenance:

  • WEPA Printing
  • Zoom

The following integrations/services may also experience brief interruptions during the maintenance:

  • Aurora
  • Continuing Education
  • Data Services integrations
  • Grouper (mygroups.colorado.edu, mygroups-priv.colorado.edu)
  • IAM integration service
  • Microsoft 365 provisioning & licensing
  • Oracle Identity Manager**
  • QuickAdmit web service
  • Real-time enrollments (RTE) web service

*Will not affect recipients' ability to respond to Qualtrics surveys.

**Backfill of Oracle Identity Manager data to the EDB will be queued up during the maintenance and processed when complete (e.g., user display name changes via identikey.colorado.edu will not immediately propagate to the EDB).
