Clear the Web Browser Cache - Safari

Clearing a web browser’s cache can correct problems you may have using a web browser while on the CU Boulder network or using an OIT web based program, like Canvas or Buff Portal. OIT recommends that you perform this before using the campus network. In every browser, completely close or quit the browser for changes to take effect.

The instructions below demonstrate how to clear the cache using Safari.

Step 1

Click on the Safari drop-down menu and select Settings.

Step 2

Select Privacy, then Manage Website Data.

Step 3

Click Remove All.

Step 4

Confirm your choice to clear the cache and click Remove Now. All the data listed on the last window will be removed.

Step 5

OIT recommends also clearing browsing history. Open the Safari drop-down menu again and select Clear History.

Step 6

From the Clear drop-down, select All History, then click the Clear History button.

When finished, completely close or quit the browser for changes to take effect.
